The Otamatea Hawks Rugby Club was formed in 1988 when the Maungaturoto and Eastern United (Kaiwaka) rugby clubs amalgamated. The Hawks managed to win the Premier Championship the following year, and has had plenty more successes since then. The club celebrated its 25th reunion in 2013 with over 300 players returning to mix and mingle and relive the good old days. The Hawks field two teams, the Premiers and the Reserves, in Northland's hotly contested Southern Districts competition. Home matches are shared between the Maungaturoto Country Club and the Kaiwaka Sports Complex and are well attended by our many vocal supporters. For more information on the game of rugby, including rules, please visit http://www.nzru.co.nz/. For enquiries on the Otamatea Hawks Rugby Club please contact Kevin Robinson on 027 479 3659 or [email protected].
